Curriculum Vitae

 

 

Graduated Cum Laude in 2009 for her Ph.D on Comparative Politics at the University of Warsaw and works now as Policy Advisor for the Foundation of European Progressive Studies.

 

Born in Warsaw (Poland) in 1979, Ania Skrzypek graduated Cum Laude for her Ph.D at Warsaw University in 2009 at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Journalism on the thesis Cooperation of socialist and social democratic parties in uniting Europe 1957 – 2007. 

 

As a researcher in comparative politics she specializes in the political history of the European Union, party political systems across Europe and social and labour market policies within the Union. She worked at the University of Warsaw, at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Journalism, as a lecturer on social sciences and social sciences of organizations and coordinated the social psychology and philosophy research group between 2003 and 2005.  

 

Before joining the Foundation of European Progressive Studies in 2009, Ania Skrzypek was secretary general of ECOSY – Young European Socialists between 2005 and 2009. In this capacity she represented the youth organization in all socialist entities on the European level and organized many international activities, debates and campaigns.

 

In the European Elections 2004 and 2009, Ania was candidate (list SLD, independent) for the European Parliament for Warsaw. 

 

Ania Skrzypek published several Polish and international works, including a book on the history of ECOSY entitled “With the socialists for jobs, peace and freedom" (November 2008) and a book on the "History of the Party of European Socialists 1957 to 2009" (September 2010).  

 

Working with FEPS Ania is responsible as Policy Advisor for the “Next Left” research programme, which is chaired by Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer (former Chancellor of Austria). She co-edited the books "Next Left - Renewal of social democracy, contributions to a European-wide debate" (December 2009) and "Next Left - The leaders' visions for Europe's future" (April 2010) in cooperation with Ernst Stetter and Karl Duffek. She is also Editing Manager of the FEPS Scientific Magazine "Queries".
